What A Heart Attack Feels Like

When I was 23 I experienced the scariest moments of my life. It was summer and I was sitting in a field having a BBQ with my friends without a care in the world. 30 – 40 minutes later I felt the familiar twang of indigestion. I was eating cheese and cheese usually fucks up my stomach badly so I just guessed it was that.. nope. I shrugged it off at first but the feeling got worse, a dull aching sensation bubbled up in my throat which felt like a mix of the most gnarly acid reflux in the world and being punched in the throat. I remember sitting up with my eyes closed telling myself it will pass but 10 – 15 mins later the feeling started to spread to my shoulders and down my arms. Suddenly a new sensation was fading in.. The skin around my shoulders started to feel warm slowly building up to a point where it was like a furnace under my skin that was trapping heat under my flesh kinda the same feeling you get when a sunburn is starting to form but worse. I remembers very specific pricking sensation as well bit like pins and needles but itchy and sharp. Then the super fun symptom really started to show. I find it hard to explain because it was so specific but that feeling of indigestion became a suffocating smog sensation squeezing my chest tightly. A fucking elephant foot standing on my chest blocking any sort of blood flow to the rest of my body. It was like I could breathe but my body wasn’t taking in any oxygen? IDK it felt like suffocating on nothing while there was a rope tightly squeezing my neck. My friends obviously started to notice I was acting weird and asked me if I was okay. Something started to feel really really bad and I needed them to call emergency services ASAP like I didn’t really know if I was dying or not but I have never felt something this scary in my life. The crushing sensation got worse and worse to a point where I was hyperventilating prolly also out of panic as well. Lightheadedness and feeling like I was gonna vomit was becoming the main character now I was retching, sweating and suffocating it was a fucking awful combo. The ambulance arrived and idk when but I blacked out. Woke up in the hospital lotta yap yapping from doctors until eventually a specialist came in and told me I had a heart attack and have a very rare congenial condition nobody every knew about. It effects 1 percent of the population and is known to cause heart attacks in fairly young people due to problems with elevated cholesterol levels and heart clots which caused mine. Was living a unhealthy lifestyle as well which didn’t help. They also told me if it had been 1 minute too late getting an emergency catheter shoved into the clotted artery my heart would of suffered some severe damage and I would be left with a very damaged heart or dead yeah that wasn’t scary at all ex de. I’ve since had surgery, on a lot of medication and get regular check ups on my heart which is still fucked but the risks of another attack at my are lot lower. HOWEVER when I get older the chances of one coming back is pretty juicy along with straight up heart failure so can’t wait for that 🙏 Anyway yeah looks after your heart you never know if death is lurking behind the corner to give it a little tickle
