I have an idea for a horror story but I’m really bad at writing. I struggle with basic grammar and also get frustrated as fuck over any little mistake or I guess being unable to set a scene properly. If theres anyone here who likes to write stories how do you write without being a total ADHD perfectionist? My story will be a short story too which makes things easier but even that is a struggle with just EVERYTHING! I always instantly just think I’m a failure and give up why I HATE creative shit. I guess I brainwashed myself to think it has to be perfect and incredibly unique thanks to my own narcissism but it really fucks up any sort of creative way to have an outlet.
Often jealous of the Poems and other actual creative writing here especially Clara’s poems. I wish I could find a way to express myself through words like that.. sometimes I am blown away by them. I guess I need to write for myself nobody else and try and not to force something like a constipated dump? IDK
just write here, nobody will be able to pinpoint who you are anyways and this isn’t exactly an intellectual hub
Just write and finish a first draft. Treat it as source material instead of the finished product. Then read the first draft and rewrite it. Let it rest a few weeks/months, revisit it and do another revision until you feel content with the result. No great work of art has been finished on the first try.

My advice would be set a word count target. Say 100 words then 250 words. Write something, ask your Ai just to correct the spelling and then post it on here. Writing well takes practice so the more you do the better you get and this place is full of people practicing.
Maybe avoid the standard gay love, I hate myself, people on here are cunts. I want to fuck Admin. Pick a subject each time and go for it. A&C did a topic so you can always follow up on there next choice.
If you want an idea how about a man who wants to kill his wife and dicides to use a nail gun and shoots it through her ear drum.
Or how about a place that recruits young girls as prostitute by showing them a dungeon pool full of women drowning in shit and telling them unless they work hard that is their destiny.
Essentially this place is open season for any idea apart from …. fantasies of steve.

The fact that you can honestly self reflect, can recognize someone else’s work that you truly admire and why you admire it, and are very earnest in wanting to not just write, but write as well as you possibly can, shows that you actually have the right disposition to become a good writer. And believe it or not, the ability to honestly self review your own writing is a hard thing for many aspiring writers to learn to do. And the thing that can make all the difference between someone who just writes…and someone who’s a brilliant writer.
And the fact that you can honestly critique you’re own work already, as it’s something that just comes natural to you, actually puts you head and shoulders above a lot of “writers” on here.
