Self Harm Scars

Author: Unknown

I have self harm scars on my thighs. They’re pretty noticable despite being white and not super big but there’s a lot. And it’s because 13 year old me was a depressed retard with too much free time. Somehow I cut so deep that I now have these stupid ass scars to this day.

My question for anyone seeing this is what would you think if the girl you’re dating had old sh scars on her thighs. Because I am not depressed at all now but I don’t like my scars. I hate how they make me seem vulnerable when really I’m not.

Like I can’t even wear a cute skirt without my scars basically screaming “IM DEPRESSED” to every fucking stranger…

This is basically an ad for parents to not let their teens on the internet 24/7. Honestly if teenage me wasn’t on the internet so much I wouldn’t have these scars

I never wear short sleeves or anything above the knee because a tan makes my scars a lot more noticeable. But I don’t think people actually care. If they see my scars they sometimes act weird but fuck those ones anyway. I think my self consciousness is a kind of narcissism.

from my experience, it varies. some people will act weird or say “you shouldn’t have done that. you ruined your body” and all that.

But think of it this way: if the person you date shows disgust towards your scars, they aren’t for you. If someone truly loved you, they would see your scars and think about how much you came through. glad you are doing better! keep pushing through :)))

i have scars on my thighs too, and honestly, most people don’t pay much attention to them. if they do notice them, they usually assume they’re stretch marks…

i don’t like my scars either, and i really related to what you said about them making you seem vulnerable when that’s not how you see yourself at all. earlier this year, i covered mine with a tattoo, and it was honestly one of the best decisions i’ve made.

and besides, if someone truly loves and cares about you, they won’t judge you because of your scars.

I recently got tattoos on my inner forearms to cover up extensive self harm markings, I was still cutting myself at 25 years old (I’m 26 now and a lot wiser)

maybe you can get some tattoos, so instead of people thinking you’re depressed, they’ll just assume you’re another art hoe with no work ethic

in all seriousness, find someone who doesn’t judge you for your past, and make sure to enjoy your life and not let what others think intrude on your happiness. as an internet stranger, I’m happy you’re alive and can look back on past mistakes with a mature outlook. take care.

What strangers you only pass by for a minute think doesn’t matter. I personally think any type of scars look incredibly attractive. I guess you think it’s so obvious that they’re self harm scars and you don’t want people to think you’re depressed because of them. But being depressed is not an embarrasing thing so having signs of that on your body shouldn’t mean anything negative. Also depression isn’t the only reason of harming yourself and every person has a different approach towards intense emotions or situations. Just because yours happen to be that doesn’t mean you’re less or anything. It’s okay.

Also, if your boyfriend truly loves you, I’m pretty sure he’d love your scars too. If he finds them repulsive or something like that then he’s just simply not good enough for you. Don’t worry. And wear that cute skirt.

My girlfriend has quite a few large moles all over her body, and I’ve always found them incredibly attractive. When we first got together, she seemed a little self-conscious about them and would usually refer to them as birthmarks. I always thought that was a shame.

For whatever reason on very white skin scars and moles look very attractive.

Glad it seems like you’re doing at least a little better now. I’m in a rut currently myself; probably on the wrong site for helping it lmao
