As much as I love gore films my boyfriend isn’t a huge fan of them. His favorite genre is body horror and I want to have some movies we can watch together so if you have any good recs please please let me know!

The Thing (1982) and The Fly (1986) are both good places to start with body horror, it’s my favorite horror genre as well and that’s where I started. Your boyfriend has most likely seen these if he’s into body horror, but you should check them out. The practical effects are amazing, but both of these films are also incredible in terms of story and atmosphere. You WILL like them.
You should also check out Eraserhead (1977), Altered States (1980) and Videodrome (1983)
