I knew the day we met
It wasn’t Stranger Danger
It was kismet

Platonic soul mates
Destined to be band mates
You were my one half
To a whole of amazing

We sang, we danced,
We shared, we cried,
We laughed, We plied
Secret knowledge from a deep, deep
Well of old lies

We wrote parody songs and sang them With a straight face
One was about a gay bear Santa
That came all over your little town
One was a true story
About the damaged hearts we’d both found

Times we took for granted
That we thought would last forever
But when you sailed away
A piece of my soul was forever severed

If you’re still out there somewhere
Send up a flare
From this shipwreck we call life
