A Poem Before I Sleep

Author: Meow

A poem before I sleep…

I woke up; my skin felt watery and cloudy.

I struggled out of bed, feeling weak.

My heart pounded mercilessly like a drum,
my limbs weak and trembling,
my mind sure I could fall at any moment as I no longer was able to stand still,
I tried to approach the table.
I stumbled, seeing dark except in the center of my vision.
The high pitch sound that was in my ears didn’t let me hear the sound of the chair I just dragged. I sat.

Ink-coloured bugs suddenly appear all over my room;
yet I feel no fear or confusion.

I stumble over to my mirror, my pupils are blown.

End of poem.
