1 Kitten Over 10 Random Humans

Earlier some people I knew were having a lil discussion about morals and stuff like that, morality has been a thing that’s always made me curious for one particular reason, mainly the difference in humans having consciousness and animals not. Because they lack the consciousness that humans have, they technically can’t do anything morally wrong. And I really hate when people reply to this with “So you think it’s okay for cats to play with their food?” the difference is, it’s in their DNA. And yeah, some humans definitely have DNA that makes them more prone to being violent and sadistic (like the Chinese), but ultimately they still have a choice. Cats aren’t gonna think. If you disagree and say that it’s still their DNA, you’re pretty much saying some humans lack the same consciousness and general intelligence that other humans do. In my opinion, humans will always have the choice to control their ‘violent’ impulses, and if you act upon your cruel urges, then you’re a bad person. What these people said was “Would you rather save 10 random humans or 1 kitten? And if it was your kitten?” Of course, everyone said they’d choose the humans. One of them did say they’d save the kitten but it was said in a very jokingly manner. Personally, I’d actually consider saving the kitten. And if it was my pet kitten, then I almost certainly would save it instead of the humans. There’s some genuinely good people pit there, but holy shit, they’re so fucking hard to find nowadays. I genuinely believe 90% of the world is evil. I don’t think that 90% is all pure evil, but so much seemingly good people have very conflicting morals. They’ll weep for something such as a disabled dog, but then go and mock their local drug addicts and prostitutes. I’ve known a few drug addicts, and yeah, they do choose to do the drugs, but does that mean you shouldn’t feel sympathy for them? I’m sure everyone has self harmed at least once in their lives, in multiple different severity’s. I especially hate “Ignorance is bliss” people. These people live by that phase, but the second anything negatively affects them, it’s “Help me!!!” You can’t act moral if you don’t speak up about the things others are going/have gone through.
