I’m a bit of a bitch. Gore bothers me more than most of you. I’m mostly on this site for the fictional stuff. But I am very fascinated by the Traces and Faces of Death movies.
Faces was a breeze after I ripped the bandaid off and watched the first one for the first time. I’ve now seen it in 4K (highly recommend grabbing the vinegar syndrome 4k set). It’s brilliant, in my top 5 all time movies. I like 2 as well. 3 and 4 are shit.
Bought the Traces DVD set for $65 and decided to stop being a little faggot and watch them.
2 was pretty tame if you’ve ever seen a dead body before. Damon Fox’s narration is hilarious. Especially with that filter. I would play TOD 2 at a party or something. It’s mild enough that most people won’t be offended as long as they have their expectations set, but shows enough that it’ll get some groans out of people. 4/5.
3 was rough, and Brain Damage is a much more cruel narrator in the sense that he doesn’t make you laugh. But the dead kids in it weren’t that shocking thanks to the fact that I have twitter and Israel likes to bomb kids. Fuck you Israel. A lot of filler in this one. I like animals but I don’t really give a fuck if I watch two chickens or two dogs fight or watch a cow get killed. The autopsy was pretty gross but once you’ve seen one autopsy, you kinda get used to it. 3/5.
5 had some of the most traumatizing shit yet. I will be more careful so as to not hit motorcyclists when I am driving from now on. But the backyard wrestling bits belong in a CKY video, not a Traces of Death video. The worst part was easily the rape-murder victims. First time in these movies where I actually felt like it was exploitative and wasn’t something we needed to see. But I guess the point of the movies is to challenge your comfortable reality a lot of us have the fortune to live in. Anyways, a lot of the clips here drag on and on. You could keep all of the shit in here but still trim 10 minutes off and it wouldn’t change anything. 2.5/5.
A lot of you sick fucks probably beat your meat or flick your clit to these movies so feel free to call me whatever names you like for my takes. Sorry, I only beat my shit to women *pretending* to be dead.
You may be wondering why I haven’t seen 1 or 4. That would be because I have seen enough gore for now, and my understanding is that 1 and 4 are the hardest to sit through. I started both of them and tapped out of both of them within minutes.
