i’ve often seen people assume that women who enjoy gore, especially violence against female characters, are identifying with the victim in some way. i’ve never really related to that explanation.
what fascinates me isn’t the idea of being in the victim’s position. part of what makes these scenes compelling to me is that i genuinely find myself drawn to the suffering of female victims. not because i imagine myself in their place, but because i’m interested in watching those dynamics unfold from the outside. i’m drawn to portrayals of other women experiencing humiliation, degradation, objectification, and a complete loss of agency.
i’m curious whether any other women here feel the same way. do you tend to identify with the victim, the aggressor, neither, or something more complicated? what do you think draws you to this kind of content?

I love gore but its more of a blood fetish then it is about actually wanting to see women hurt, I blaim cheap horror movies using big boobs to sell their movie. it worked. but because they are bad actors and you know they arnt really hurt… when they actually look upset for real It get gets uncomfortable and I want it to stop. i think in a way some shock movies go too far trying to make things real looking, some thiings maybe shouldnt be depicted because even the depraved should not be watching it.
