Life On Autopilot

Author: lilithmao

Sometimes I feel like we go through life on autopilot, following rules we didn’t even choose for ourselves. That’s why, when I read that eroticism is “indispensable,” I see it as a form of rebellion. To me, it’s not just about sex or something physical; it’s about that spark that makes you feel alive, something as necessary as poetry. Poetry helps you put words to what you feel, and eroticism helps you feel who you truly are, without filters or masks.

I see so many people trapped in what their parents or society expect of them, and I get the sense they’re living halfway, as if they’re afraid to look in the mirror and discover their own desires. On the other hand, when you dare to know yourself through what move you and what you’re passionate about, it’s like you finally start writing your own book instead of the one you inherited.

In the end, I believe that knowing ourselves deeply is our only real task. And yes, it’s daunting, because exploring your own desire or sensitivity means stepping into uncharted territory, but it’s the only way to avoid being a “castaway” in your own life. I’d a thousand times rather have that constant search, however complicated it may be, than sit around waiting for someone to tell me how I should feel or who I should love. It is, quite literally, what makes us human.

Ultimately, if eroticism is the foundation of self-knowledge, casual sex is like a laboratory experiment: it lets you test who you are when you don’t have to be “someone’s partner.” It’s discovering your own limits, your shadows, and your inner fires without having to answer to anyone but your own pleasure. It is, in essence, being the architect of your own body.

L’érotisme est un rapport social, la masturbation mène à la connaissance de soi. But self-knowledge is an illusory goal. Life is not about getting to know yourself because there’s nothing to be found inside. Life is about being in the world with its inhabitants. The outside is calling.

Life is about getting out of yourself
To be with someone else
Life is about getting rid of yourself
To become someone else

Life is about getting out of yourself
what is most personal so as to offer it to the world
It’s a twofold process: first you inhale everything you can, then you exhale something that needs to get out
You throw up what you’ve been fed, what has grown inside taking your shape

Objectivation du subjectif
Subjectivation de l’objectif
Transformer le monde comme il t’a transformée
