Qliphothic Occultism Rambles

So last night I discovered this thing called Qliphothic Occultism, which is basically working with the Shadow aspects of the Tree of Life. In traditional ceremonial “right hand path” magick you work with the “Light” aspects.

Qliphothic Working is what you call a “left hand path”. It’s not like atheistic Satanism where you invert Christian worship, it has to do with Inner Alchemy and Shadow Work, which I’ve been doing on and off for the past couple of years, but through the methods developed by C.G. Jung like active imagination, dream interpretation, conversation with my Shadow Archetypes.

I’m pretty excited to learn more about this way of Inner Alchemy, it suits me really well, especially Kenneth Grant’s synthesis of Aleuster Crowley’s works and H.P. Lovecraft.

I’m a big fan of everything H.P. Lovecraft. My favorite album of the year is ‘Penance’ by The Lovecraft Sextet. There’s a lot of dark ambient music with a Lovecraftian vibe, and my 2nd favorite band also has a ton of Lovecraft inspired songs (Electric Wizard).

I just have to take it easy, there are dangers in this work, even if you believe occultism to be a purely psychological phenomenon. I think I feel secure enough to delve deeper into my Shadows.

I’m already very aquainted with that side of myself, but the work is not done. I’m at the Nigredo phase but also already transmutating meaning and purpose from the suffering that the crucible is holding.

Of course, I’m a very curious lil shit and I want to experience whacky stuff too, but the main reason that I see in doing occultism is self-development and refinement. Breaking through old damaging patterns of behaviors, beliefs about myself and others, facing the parts of myself that I’ve cast into the shadow, all that gnarly stuff.

It fits well with the book I’m writing too. A psychoanalytical-somatic horror book based on occultism, individual and collective trauma and Shadow Archetypes.
